Series SOP mid-frequency billet heaters are designed for induction heating of steel billets with circular or square cross-section up to forging temperatures. The heaters consist of three modules – feeding, heating, and delivery. At the customer's request, the heater can be equipped with a hot billet sorter.

The heater is controlled programmable logic controller, available either as an Allen-Bradley or Siemens-based system, depending on the preference of the customer. The temperature of every processed billet is measured by a non-contact pyrometer. Its temperature value along with its time/date stamp can then be stored in the PLC memory. Heating and system control is performed via an interactive display panel and push-buttons which are connected to the PLC. Heater settings (desired temperature, power level, temperature range, employee login, etc.), are legibly displayed on-screen, and are modifiable to best suit the required task. Any heater system faults are also communicated to the operator via this display.

The inductor is typically located on the top of the equipment frame. New mid-frequency input connectors and cooling-loop quick-connects facilitate minimized down-time in case inductor change-out is required. We can design inductors with a square or circular heating chamber. The inductor dimensions are available in range from Model series': 20, 25, 30, 45, 60, 80, 100, 120, and 130. Of course, inductors of other dimensions can be designed, built and delivered exactly to your specifications.
